Katelyn Ingardia: Guitar and Vocals
Katelyn grew up in a Bluegrass family. She never remembers a day where she didn’t hear banjos or bluegrass music. She said that her dad was her biggest inspiration and musical influence. He taught Katelyn her first few chords on the guitar, showed her how to write a good song, and helped her strengthen her vocal skills.
She took lessons with Al Osteen for two summers, but he eventually said her ear would help her pick up whatever she wanted to play on the guitar. She wrote her first song at 12 years old and has continued to write Bluegrass and Bluegrass Gospel ever since. She has now been apart of many co-writes and song collaborations with writers like Paula Breedlove and others. She considers herself blessed to play Bluegrass music and share her own music, alongside some phenomenal musicians, who she also has the privilege of calling her friends!

Alex Hampton: Dobro and Vocals
Making his home in Blacksburg, SC, Alex was adopted into a family with southern gospel roots dating back earlier than 1943. This family group is still singing, called "The Hamptons". He quickly took to music. Plinking around with guitar and percussions, trumpet and several other winds while going through high school.
He joined the esteemed Easter Brothers and played mandolin and sang bass for them for a short stint until they came off the road.
He picked up the Dobro in 2019 so he could find a permanent spot in the Bluegrass Gospel band, "The Valley Crusaders".
He takes resophonic inspiration from Randy Kohrs and Jerry Douglas, singing and songwriting and musicality from a number of genres and artists. Alex is truly a wild card where his imagination will take the music he makes.
He writes, play multiple instruments, and sings any part you throw at him.
He sings and plays for multiple groups in surrounding states.

Jacob Carrol: Banjo and Vocals
Jacob Carrol lives in Spruce Pine, NC. From a young age he has been interested in bluegrass music. His love for banjo started when he was around 2 years old while watching Earl Scruggs and friends play Foggy Mountain Breakdown. He started taking banjo lessons from Christy Rash when he was 11 years old. When he was 14 he started playing with his great uncle Terry McKinney at serval local venues. At the age 16 Jacob joined his first group, a local gospel band called Stings of Faith. This led to him playing in several other local bands including Carolina Crossroads, Toe River Drifters, and Rock Creek Ramblers.
In 2017 he was chosen to participate in the IBMA Kids on Bluegrass program. In 2017 he joined Truegrass and traveled with them for several years and now he has joined Backline.

Jacob Connor: Mandolin and Vocals

David Heavner is a multi-instrumentalist and vocalist, born and raised around Golden Valley, NC. When I was 14 , I began traveling with the Golden Valley Crusaders. While traveling to South Georgia with the Crusaders, I met my wife of over 12 years. We have three beautiful children, Emerson, Oliver, Addilyn, and just recently had a new baby boy. When the Golden Valley Crusaders retired, I had the opportunity to play bass with Little Roy Lewis and Lizzy Long for three years until he found out they were expecting their first child. Besides music, David also enjoys hunting, fishing, and spending time with his family.

Chris Williamson: Bass

The world of bluegrass opened up for Chris at the age of 13. His dad, Paul Williamson and his friend, Benny Heart, would get together and pick. Chris’s dad bought him an electric bass, then soon after, an upright. Just after high school, he joined the Shoal Creek Band, and then at the age of 20, he joined Randy Kohrs and the Lites. In 2008, Shane Blackwell asked Chris to help start Volume Five, and he played with them for the next 10 years. In 2018, Chris’s wife Brittany gave birth to their daughter Indy, so Chris gave up V5 to spend more time with his family. About a year later, Chad Simpson invited Chris to play with Mountain Bridge band. In July 2019, Backline was in need of a fill in bass player for the Anderson Bluegrass Festival. After the Anderson festival, Backline invited Chris to join them for 2019. Chris resides in Commerce, GA with his wife Brittany and their daughter Indy Jolene.
